Apply to become a Writing Tutor in Spanish!

The Spanish program in the Department of Modern and Classical Languages invites all Spanish majors and Spanish Master’s students to apply for the opportunity to work as a Writing Tutor for Spanish undergraduate students in the fall semester of 2017. The Writing Tutor will help students enrolled in 300- and 400-level courses with composing and editing academic essays in Spanish while encouraging them in the writing process. Maximum 5 hours weekly in person and/or online. Stipend is $1,000 for the semester. (Renewal for the spring 2017 semester is a possibility.)

Full mentorship of the Writing Tutor will be provided by Professor Lisa Rabin during the summer and throughout the fall semester. Tutor may also be asked to attend several free training workshops for tutors as they are offered by the University’s Writing Center.

Please submit a cover letter with your name, student status (major or graduate student), intended year of graduation, G.P.A., a brief statement on your interest in the position, and a separate writing sample in Spanish to language@gmu.edu by April 15. Please use subject heading “Writing Tutor Application.”
