Spanish announces 2022-23 SHLE lecture series

Four experts in critical, antiracist pedagogies to give online lectures in conjunction with the Graduate Certificate program in Spanish Heritage Language Education

Spanish announces 2022-23 SHLE lecture series

Following the tremendous success of the inaugural 2021-22 Spanish Heritage Language Education (SHLE) lecture series, the Spanish program will again host an online SHLE lecture series in 2022-23

This year's series features four experts in Spanish heritage language education, critical pedagogies, and antiracist approaches to language education. Topics to be addressed include the role of SHLE in inclusive excellence, key principals in the design and implementation of a critical SHLE curriculum, connecting language education to social justice, and transformational pedagogies. A common thread running through this year's series is how to put critical and decolonial pedagogies into practice in order to support student development and success, as well as promote social justice.

All lectures are free and open to the public but advance registration is required.  Visit the SHLE online lecture series page to register.
